Sanselig deluxe: A multi-sensory dining performance during Fragment festival

GRAC is thrilled to present an immersive dinner experience in collaboration with artist Ann Cathrin November Høibo.

Sanselig Deluxe is a performative dinner experience created to heighten every sense. With trust, presence and curiosity as your guide, you’ll be taken on a journey of sound, taste, movement, conversation, beauty, temperature, space and joy.

Each night, an intimate guest list will take part in a live, shifting scene. Throughout the experience, a tasteful and experimentally crafted five-course meal and five drinkable units will be served in conscious and scenographic settings. Ann Cathrin has developed a cinematic universe and invites you to step into the scene, where each one of us in the room, including the guests, play a vital part.

The culinary vision for this dinner is developed in collaboration with our artistic test kitchen Polyamoral and Vinbaren på Mølla. Together with Ann Cathrin, we have focused specifically on end-of-summer foraging combined with influences from the damp darkness that rises with the income of fall in the southern norwegian region. We have been gathering treasures from local fauna from the shore to the pine forest; fermenting, preserving and pickling. New flavours combined with the feeling of childhood, memories retold in new words, by someone else, but still yours to keep.

Local ingredients, humour, beauty, and maybe even some nerves. Every element of the performance is curated with care, from the food and light to the music, gestures, interactions and objects surrounding you. This is not a dinner with entertainment, but a theatrical performance from the moment you arrive.

Part of Fragment Festival

Sanselig delux is presented during Fragment, Kristiansand’s new modernist art festival. Fragment is developed in collaboration with major art institutions across the city, and aims to reimagine how, where and with whom we encounter art.

Characterised by innovation, fragmentation and new forms of expression, modernism often reflects themes of urban life and alienation. Movements such as impressionism, expressionism, cubism, dadaism and surrealism are all part of the modernist umbrella.

Rooted in this spirit of modernism, where artistic formats merge and dissolve, Sanselig delux invites the audience to re-experience dining as a time-based, immersive artwork.

Each ticket includes:

• Five courses and five drink servings (including alcohol)
• A unique performative experience involving food, sound, objects, light and poetry

Please note:

• If you cannot consume alcohol, email post.grac@gmail.com before booking.
• We are not able to adapt the menu for allergies or dietary restrictions, but allergen information will be provided at each serving. (Even if you cannot eat every dish, the experience will be worth it.)
• No phones are allowed during the performance. Professional photographs will be made available to guests after the event.
• The space is large and slightly chilly. We recommend warm long-sleeved clothing and closed shoes.
